Prof. Mary Ndung’u, the Vice Chancellor of Kirinyaga University, was part of the Kenyan universities delegation that visited Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology, China, on 12th January 2026. The visit aimed at strengthening international academic collaboration and university–industry partnerships. The engagement focused on exploring cooperation in smart campus development, AI-driven education, faculty capacity building, and joint student training programs. During the visit, Prof. Mary Ndung’u took part in institutional discussions, presentations on smart education technologies, and deliberations on academic exchange and collaborative training initiatives. The delegation also toured the AI + Education Center and smart classrooms. The visit identified opportunities for joint faculty training in China, collaborative student programs, and technology-supported learning initiatives that can benefit Kirinyaga University. The Vice Chancellor's participation strengthens Kirinyaga University’s position in international engagement and laid a foundation for future academic and technology partnerships.
