KIRINYAGA UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATED IN KNOWLEDGE AMBASSADORS WORKSHOP HELD ON MARCH 9, 2018 AT THE UNIVERSITY OF EMBU

KyU librarian Mr. Stephen Maina together with Paul Gitau, Mahad A. Maalin, Mercy N. Benu, Joh Karanja and Jane Gitau all of whom are students of KyU participated and made presentations in the knowledge ambassadors workshop held on March 9, 2018 at the University of Embu.

The workshop which was organized by the Kenya library and Information Service Consortium (KLISC) in collaboration with University of Embu aimed at streamlining the use of knowledge ambassadors to support enhanced access of students and other library users to electronic resources held at the library.

KyU knowledge ambassadors made a presentation on “How to access to e-journals, e-books and repositories. “Presentations by students from other universities included: Strategies used by Knowledge Ambassadors to promote e-resources, Benefits of using e-resources in research and learning, Use of Zotero and Mendeley as referencing management tool, Using anti-plagiarism software.

KyU library will hence forth develop the necessary structures, policies and frameworks to streamline the work of knowledge ambassadors within the library tasks and work flows.
