PROGRAMMES

Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and Textile Technology

The programme aims at providing learners with knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to cope with the changing demand in the field of Fashion Design and Textile Technology.
Entry requirement
    K.C.S.E mean grade C+ (Plus) and above with C (Plain) in art and design, or one Science subject (Chemistry, Biology Physics) or one Art subject (Home Science, History, Geography).
               OR    
-    KACE Certificate with minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass or its equivalent and at least Division III in KCE with a pass either one Science (Chemistry, Biology Physics) or one Art subject (Home Science, History, Geography).
        OR
-    Diploma in Fashion or Design or its equivalent with minimum C (plain) mean grade at KCSE.
        OR
-    Any other qualification recognized by the University Senate.
    OR
-    Candidates who hold higher national Diploma in Fashion Design or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be granted exemption for year 1 and 2 of the study.
        OR
-    Candidates who hold diploma in Fashion Design or its equivalent will be legible to a Credit transfer or waiver to a maximum of one year.
        OR
-    Candidates who hold qualification equitable to full or part of Bachelor’s Degree or a registered in another University recognized by the University senate in an equivalent programme may at approval of the University senate be allowed to transfer Credit to a maximum of 49% Credit a transfer of the core course units for similar programmes at the same.
        OR
-    Admission will be done on competitive basis

Duration

8 semesters on campus training and 8 weeks attachment in a external relevant institution.

Diploma in Fashion Design and Textile Technology

The programme is designed to provide trainees with diversified skills and knowledge in the area of Fashion Design and Textile Technology.

Entry requirement

•    Mean grade of C (plain) in K.C.S.E. with a pass
OR
•    Mean grade of C-(minus) in K.C.S.E. with a certificate in Fashion Design Technology.
OR
•    Any other relevant Certificate from institutions recognized by the University senate

Duration

2 years on campus training and 8 weeks attachment in a external relevant institution
