About the School of Business

Kirinyaga University School of Business and Economics was created in order to  provide  opportunities for teaching, research, and innovation. The school has mounted a number of Degree, Diploma and Certificate courses offered at the main campus and Kerugoya campus.
The intakes are done in January, May and September every year.
We offer courses aimed at equipping our students with hands on skills that enable them serve in all public and private sectors.

Current academic programmes

1. Bachelor of Commerce- Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Human Resource options

The bachelor of commerce is intended to provide students with business, ethical and technological skills required by commerce and industry and at the same time meet the quality requirements of the University.

2. Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management

This programme prepares the students to work in the area of human resource management and related areas.

3. Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship

This programme aims to offer learners the skills they need to identify opportunities in the market place and take advantage of those opportunities. It  is open to those who wish to become entrepreneurs or wish to work within entrepreneurial environments.

4. Bachelor of Business Management

It provides learners with business management skills required in a modern working environment. Its focus is to train learners on skills required to manage and lead businesses in a competitive world.

5. Bachelor of Enterprise Management

The programmee aims at equipping learners with theoretical and practical knowledge skills in developing and management of small business enterprise among other necessary for all sectors of the economy.

6. Diploma in Business Management

The programme provides basic business management skills to meet the needs of workforce in government or private sector employment.

7. Diploma in Human Resource Management

The programme provides human resource skills to meet the needs of workforce in government or private sector employment. It is designed for practitioners and professionals who wish to enhance and develop their skills in the discipline of human resource management.

8. Certificate in Business Management

The programme provides basic business management skills to meet the needs of workforce in government or private sector employment.

9. Certificate in Human Resource Management

The programme provides basic human resource management skills to meet the needs of workforce in government or private sector employment.
