In collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO), Kenya Industrial and Development Research Institute (KIRDI), Kirinyaga University will host the second phase of training for capacity building for the support and sustainability of the ULH-MHP project. The project, supported by UNIDO in collaboration with the government of Kenya, is already running at Kiuria Village, Mwea, Kirinyaga County, since November, 2015. The project is implemented under the Low Carbon Low Emission Clean Technology Transfer (LCET) Programme with a main objective to generate electrical energy using ultra low water-head at selected points along existing irrigation canals. This second phase of training is aimed at scaling up to other sites in the country (national level) with a view to empowering communities who will set up businesses linked to the ULH-MHP Project.

Target participants are county officials in the energy departments and private sector practitioners in the selected counties.
